Fibreglass  Products -

Fibreglass Rigid Pipe Section is available for temperature applications up to 450°C. Various factory applied facings are available: calico, sisalation (foil faced), glass cloth, etc. A full range of sizes are available, to suit all standard iron and copper piping.

Flexwrap Pipe Insulation is available for larger size pipework. Generally 300mm to over 600mm diameter and is available in sisalation (foil faced).
Lightweight Equipment Insulation (L E.I.) is available for the thermal insulation of industrial equipment operating at temperatures up to 350°C. Density is 22kg/m3
Flexible Equipment Insulation (F.E.I.) is a lightweight and flexible. It presents a reasonably firm support to sheathing materials. It is available in batts and is designed for the thermal insulation of industrial equipment operating at temperatures up to 350°C. Density is 36kg/m3 Intermediate Service Board (I.S.B.) is a relatively lightweight and presents a semi-rigid firm surface to sheathing materials. Designed for the thermal insulation of equipment operating up to 450°C. Density is 45kg/m3

Rigid Equipment Insulation (R.E.I) is available in board form and is designed for the thermal insulation of equipment operating at temperatures up to 150°C. Density is 80kg/m3
White Wool products consist of unbended glass fibres available in bales. It is designed for heavy industrial uses - turbines, valves, and chimneys as examples. White Wool can be used on equipment operating up to 540°C. Density is 48kg/m3

Commercial Insulation Blanket is a rolled blanket insulation specifically designed for application on flat or low pitched roofs using metal decking or asbestos cement roofing sheets.
It is designed to provide thermal control and to reduce the noise level within the building from rain noise, etc.
Ductwrap is used for external application on all concealed and exposed round and rectangular air ducts. It offers versatility, economy, and flexibility as an exterior insulation for air ducts operating up to 121°C.

Ductliner is used for internal acoustic treatment of cold and hot air rectangular ducts.  It is a semi-rigid Fibreglass sheet available in either a plain or faced surface one side; It provides excellent sound attenuation and thermal insulation and can be used on all rectangular cold or hot air ducts.

Other Products

Rockwool is an insulant having a high maximum working temperature, Rockwool, also known as Slagwool or Mineral Wool, has found much popularity in major engineering uses such as Paper Mills, Power Stations, Oil Refineries etc and high temperature ovens and furnaces. Maximum Operating Temperature 650°C Available Forms— Flexible Rolls, Batts, Blankets and Moulded Pipe Sections. Thermal Conductivity (k) at 24°C —0.034 w/m°C approximately (note - varies with density). Densities are from 60 to 120kg/m3 Ceramic Fibre (Kaowool) is a super heat resistant alumina silica fibre capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1500°C (2790°F). Available in Bulkwool, blanket, felt, cloth, rope, paper and other forms for specific uses. Main features — high heat resistance, flexible, low thermal conductivity, lightweight, chemically stable, good thermal stability. Thermal conductivity —(k) at 24°C —0.043 w/m°C.

Foamglas is a cellular insulant made from glass foamed into flat blocks and pipe sections. Ideal for low temperature work and underground pipe insulation. Foamglas has very good resistance to compression, acids, moisture, and fire. The material is very stable and easy to cut and work with. Maximum Operating Temperature 430°C (800°F). Available Forms— Flat Blocks and Pipe Segments. Thermal Conductivity (k) at 24°C (75°F) —0.057 w/m°C (0.40 B.t.u. inch/sq. ft. hour °F).

Nitrile Rubber (Armaflex / Insulflex / Centurylon) is a versatile and flexible elastomeric pipe insulation suitable for applications between -40°F to +220°F. Main applications are in the refrigeration, air-conditioning and solar heating industries. Max operating temp is 105°C. It is available in Pipe, Sheet, Tape. Thermal Conductivity —(k) at 240°C —0.036 w/m°C.
Calcium Silicate is a rigid high temperature insulant. The material is free of asbestos fibres. Calcium Silicate is popular for use at high temperatures and where resistance to mechanical damage is important. Maximum Operating Temperature — Two grades are available one having a maximum limiting temperature of 800 °C the other 950°C. Available Forms — Flat Blocks, Bevelled Lags, Grooved Slabs, Moulded Pipe Segments, Pulp. Thermal Conductivity (k) at 24°C —0.051 w/m°C.
Glass Fibre Products and Glass Woven Cloth these are specially developed as an alternative for certain asbestos products used in high temperature thermal applications. Available in cloth, tape, rope, yarns, and sewing twines. Glass fibre products are lightweight, will not absorb moisture and resistant to most chemicals. These are available in a range up to 15000C
Polyurethane rigid foam insulation has become a very popular insulant having a high thermal performance on an inch for inch basis compared with all other insulants. The cellular structure makes it particularly suitable for low temperature applications. Maximum Operating Temperature 120°C. Available Forms — Flat Rigid Sheets, Moulded. Pipe Segments and Liquid Foam. Thermal Conductivity (k) at 24°C —0.025 w/m°C.
Polystyrene is a cellular insulant having good thermal and reasonable structural capabilities when laminated to other materials to form a panel. Maximum Operating Temperature 82°C. Available Forms — Flat Rigid Sheets and moulded Pipe Segments. Thermal Conductivity (k) at 24°C —0.034 w/m°C.

Coatings A complete range of insulation adhesives, coatings and sealers. Heated applications protective coatings should breathe (water vapour to escape from insulation) but not pass liquid into the insulation. Lagtone 30/70 and HI mastic 90/07 are breather coatings. Cold insulations are the opposite requiring vapour barrier characteristics, CI mastic 60/25, Aluminium mastic 60/42, Cork mastic 65/04 and Titefit 30/25 are excellent vapour barriers.
