asbestos removal
Since our beginnings we have been performing this specialized work and are one of New Zealand's longest established asbestos removal companies.
Asbestos can be found in many locations where it was used to protect against heat or fire (walls, linoleum, seismic joints, textured sprayed ceilings, boiler and pipework insulation, on roofs and as exterior cladding being some examples).
It was used in domestic and commercial environments.
Work in this field is covered by the "Asbestos Regulations 1998". A booklet published by the Dept of Labour (Occupational Safety and Health) entitled "Asbestos guide No 22" and its supplements outline the handling of this work. There is also a code of practice available.
Our Company specializes in the removal and treatment of Crocidolite, Amosite, and Chrysotile asbestos (in most cases air monitoring and analysis is required to define the asbestos type,) owing to its carcinogenic properties. We are licensed to perform all types of asbestos removal and have the experience to handle everything from small to major projects.
Our service is a total concept one - Quotation, obtaining certificates and approvals, supply of equipment when performing works to final approval after completion. Installation of other insulants can even be arranged if required.
We also provide specialist Asbestos Reports, inspections, recommendations, and costings. These can include a full site inspection, photographs and if necessary sample testing of any suspect items.
A free quotation and advisory service is also provided for small works to assist with meeting your requirements.
Our company has carried out this work throughout NZ for over 30 years now. We have been involved with work for power stations, multi-rise buildings, universities, airports, domestic homes, and even the New Zealand and American Antarctic teams as well as other International projects.
A test may be required to determine if a sample contains asbestos. This is done via independant laboratory testing and takes 1-3 days.
